Uttaranchal is one of the newly formed states of India. It became the 27th state of the country on 9th November 2000. It was bifurcated from Uttar Pradesh. This state shares its border with Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Nepal and Tibet. Dehradun is the capital city of Uttaranchal, which is also its largest city. The state is divided into 13 districts. Pithoragarh, Almora, Nainital, Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Dehradun, Pauri, and Haridwar are some of the important centers of the Uttranchal.
